Community Guidelines
We want Connections to be a safe, comfortable, and family-friendly space for everyone who uses it. The purpose of this page is to establish some norms and expectations for the content that members post to the Connections website. While we believe that our family and friends would naturally follow these guidelines without us having to spell them out, we still think it will be helpful to have some written guidelines, especially once we begin allowing people that Liz and I don't personally know to join the site.
So, we ask that all members read and keep these guidelines in mind when posting.
Standards for posting and sharing
- Treat other members politely and with respect.
- There are children using this site too. Content shared with all "logged in users" or posted in any group with open enrollment should be appropriate for all ages. Content shared with specific lists of users or posted in closed groups should be age appropriate for everyone it is shared with. (Keep in mind that group membership can change over time!)
- Respect the privacy choices made by other users. Do not share content or personal information posted by other members with additional people unless you have their permission. Do not repost others' content from Connections on any other social media platform or website without their permission.
Content that is never allowed
- Do not post content that demeans, devalues, or dehumanizes any individual or group on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, caste, place of origin, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or lack of religion.
- Respect the intellectual property rights of others (whether Connections members or not). Do not post copyrighted text, images, video, or other media unless you have explicit permission from the copyright holder. Fair use provisions may allow the limited usage of small portions of copyrighted works for purposes specified by law (such as education, criticism, or parodies). Please limit fair use of such materials to low-resolution images and no more than 100 words or 10 seconds of audio or video.
- Do not post content that is illegal or that promotes illegal behavior.
The owners of Connections reserve the right to remove any content that, in our sole discretion, does not meet these guidelines or that we otherwise deem to be inappropriate for our site. Finally, be aware that membership on Connections is a courtesy that we extend and may withdraw at any time.
If you have any questions or comments about these guidelines, please email Anthony at webmaster@mather.family.
